Senior Consultant, Media Strategist


Peter Duckler is a Senior Consultant with HLB Communications and brings more than 14 years of media relations experience for both business-to-business and consumer communications initiatives. 

During his professional career, Peter has worked with clients in nearly every industry including professional and financial services, health-care, technology, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, retail and travel.

Peter is “all media, all the time” and has fostered wonderful relationships with the most influential of journalists and broadcast producers.  He is passionate about media relations and has a unique ability to creatively deliver client messages in a way that resonates with the journalists he speaks with each and every day. 

Clients regularly turn to Peter to secure top-tier media placements – from booking guests on leading network news and business programs like “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” CNBC’s “Power Lunch” and “BusinessWeek TV” to orchestrating company profiles and business features in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Business Week and Fortune. 

At HLB, Peter provides strategic media counsel and support to all account teams, but regularly leads media relations efforts for clients such as GE Real Estate, Verizon Wireless, GATX Rail and CapitalSource.

Peter rejoins HLB from Ketchum Public Relations, where he was Vice President, Media Strategist.  At Ketchum, he was responsible for developing media strategy and executing media programs for some of the biggest brands in the business including Deloitte Consulting, Cardinal Health, IBM, Kodak, ServiceMaster, Experian, Forsythe Technology, Quaker Oats, Dreyer’s Ice Cream and Wendy’s.  He also spearheaded CEO and senior leadership visibility programs for these clients and led the agency’s staff education programs, conducting monthly media workshops and seminars for staff throughout the Agency’s global network.

Previously, Peter was an account executive at Martin Janis & Co. and Dragonette, where he handled daily media relations activities for a variety of clients, including Melvin Simon & Associates, the National Association of Realtors and RE/MAX.

Peter received both his M.A. in journalism and mass communication and his B.A. in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
